O Christmas Tea

Fans of Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Dr. Seuss… Grab your teacups!

Combining British propriety with an unabashed love for the unexpected, London’s 3-time Impresario Award-winning duo steep an outrageously funny and brilliantly inventive show reminiscent of classic British pantos. O Christmas Tea comes to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, November 12th at 3pm and 7.30pm.

Rich in wordplay, comic physicality, and cleverly crafted interactive elements, O Christmas Tea is uproarious fun, yet it is the duo’s boundless imagination and endearing chemistry that provide the real magic and heart of this play.

When catastrophe strikes at James and Jamesy’s Christmas tea party, flooding the world with tea, the duo conjure wildly funny solutions to stay afloat, and sweep the audience out to sea in a jolly aquatic escapade brimming with whimsy, action, and ingenuity in a celebration of friendship at Christmas.

“Complete and utter fun… for all ages.”
★★★★★ CBC

“Outrageously funny, magnificently written, beautifully choreographed.”
★★★★★ London Free Press

“An ode to the idea that anything is possible.”
★★★★★ Torontoist

“I cannot think of a show that will leave you more profoundly happy than this.”
★★★★★ Stage Door

Hailed as “a child’s imagination on steroids” by London Free Press and “a masterpiece of physical comedy” by Theatre In London, critics rave for the charismatic James & Jamesy. A must-see performance on the international comedy circuit, this unstoppable duo is regarded as “one of the most popular fringe duos ever” (CBC).

Jeffery Strker at Harrison Hot Springs

Jeffery Strker at Harrison Hot Springs

The Harrison Festival Society will bring the prairie-rooted Canadiana of singer songwriter Jeffery Strker to Harrison Hot Springs Memorial Hall on Friday Oct 3rd.

Jeffery Straker grew up taking piano lessons in small-town Saskatchewan and has gone on to perform over 100 shows per year across Canada, Europe and Latin America. He was raised by a church-organist mother and an auctioneer father, and swears he was born under the piano on the family grain farm. The rootsy-storytelling of his songs has the power to transport a listener out onto a lake in Canada’s North or to the main street of a prairie town, and he is a personable performer with a warm stage presence. A clever lyricist with an energetic piano style, his song writing has drawn critical comparisons to the likes of Harry Chapin, Kris Kristofferson , Murray McLauchlan &  Billy Joel, while maintaining a style distinctly his own. With 10 albums out to date, he has seen his songs used in film, TV and theatrical productions, and has twice been awarded “Roots/Folk Artist of the Year” at the Saskatchewan Music Awards. The Saskatchewan Country Music Awards have named him ‘Keyboard Player of the Year’ 3 years running.

The show begins at 7:30pm with doors opening at 6:30pm. Tickets for Jefferey Straker can be purchased online at www.harrisonfestival.com, by phone at 604.796.3664 or in person at the Ranger Station Art Gallery in Harrison Hot Springs.
